For more than 30 years, Frank Shann’s little booklet has helped physicians all around the world prescribe drugs to children. DrugDoses now contains more than 2150 entries. It lists every drug commonly prescribed for systemic use in both adults and children.

The iOS version of the booklet gives you an enormous amount of information, which will be updated yearly! You will therefore always have the latest drugs, which will only be available in the paper version in another year or two.

The iOS version has also lots of other features: more than 150 current laboratory values and a useful cardiology database.

DrugDoses also integrates PedCalc. It contains the most common pediatric scores and formulas:
- ASA score
- Alveolo-arterial gradient
- Anion gap
- Apgar score
- Blunt abdominal trauma score
- Body mass index
- Body surface area
- Corrected Ca
- Creatinine clearance - measured
- Creatinine clearance - estimated
- Endotracheal tube sizes
- FeNa
- Glasgow Coma Score
- Glasgow Outcome Scale
- Ideal Body Weight
- Maintenance fluids
- Mallampati
- NACA score
- Neonatal central lines
- Oxygen index
- PaO2/FiO2 ratio
- Parkland formula
- Pediatric trauma score
- Predicted height
- Predicted spirometry values
- QTc
- Tubular phosphate reabsorption
- Vital Signs

Pros and cons of DrugDoses app for iPhone and iPad

DrugDoses app good for

Ive been waiting for years to get this app on my iPhone! Having all these PICU doses other apps dont provide is essential! And the scores and formulas is very useful too!
This is the reference that is used widely in australia. Gives both doses for pediatrics and adults, plus US drug names (acetaminophen), but it mainly deals with pediatric dosing, a must have for clinicians dealing with pediatric population. I was just blown away with so much useful information for such little cost. Highly recommended for pharmacists, pediatricians, general medicines.

Some bad moments

Unfortunately not compatible with iOS 8. Please update the great app asap ! We paediatricians need it urgently.
I purchased this after seeing the paediatric dosage calculator feature. But now this feature has been disabled. Looks like its a complete waste of money.
Great App there is no doubt. It started with 0.99 $ to 1.99 to 4.99 to 9.99 to 14.99 to this price!!! Common stop this
